New gear for a new year!

2013 is going to be an exciting year for Credence Pictures! We’ve updated our post production and field recording gear. We’ve also added a BlackMagic Designs 1M/E digital switcher system and a HD external video recorder, along with a new camera and lens. We will have the capability of multi-camera live recording (up to eight cameras (HD-SDI and HDMI) with graphics and green screen options.

To our clients of the past few years, thank you for entrusting your story telling needs to us. I hope we can work together this year! Blessings and happy new year!

Our web design team is constantly looking for new and improved ways to enhance the user experience as well assist our clients in promoting their websites. One of the hottest areas of interest today is Facebook, Twitter and other social media, so we have implemented several tools to help us interface a client’s website with social media. The newest is a module for Expression Engine, our favorite development platform that automatically adds an update to Facebook and Twitter when making a news/blog/journal website entry. Pretty cool

We recently discovered the good folks at iplayerHD.com. They offer high quality video server hosting at a very affordable rate. We are in the process of moving all our online video clips from a previous CDN server solution to iplayerHD.com. For $30/month or $300/year you can upload as many video clips as you like, with a storage space of 50GB and a monthly bandwidth of 100GB! And the quality is excellent. Using their compression service you can upload a 1280x720HD video and they will create several different files so that your viewers browser will use the movie best suited for the browser and the viewers internet access speed. It even includes a mobile device optimized compressed movie. Your account includes backend access to name your movies, choose thumbnail pictures, add search engine tag info, embed codes for adding movies to your website, video playlists, etc.

This summer we began production of three stories for North Carolina Baptist Aging Ministry (NCBAM) to highlight the work they are doing for the aging population in NC. The project will include three individual web video stories and a compilation video to be distributed on DVD to churches across the state this fall.

Credence Pictures launched a new website on June 30th for North Carolina Baptist Aging Ministry (NCBAM). The site was designed by Jeff Reinhardt. We provided the hosting and programming of the new website in partnership with Topsail Marketing and my good friend Mike Becker. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to work with the Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina for several years by telling the stories of children and families that have been given hope by the staff of BCH. BCH has been “helping hurting children and healing broken families” for over 125 years! My Canon 5D Mark II Camera Package

It was a joy this weekend to meet so many folks at the Baptist State Convention of NC’s Communication’s Team “Videomakers Workshop”. There seemed to be a great deal of interest in my Canon 5D Mark II camera so I thought I would put together some information that might be helpful to those of you looking at this camera for your production needs.

Now, the Canon 5D Mark II is not the camera for all production situations, but it is a great new tool for many of us to achieve high-quality images at a great price point. If you need to videotape your Sunday morning worship service, this is not the camera for you. But if you want to produce promotional video clips on your church or short term mission trips your members are involved in (among other creative avenues), this may be a great solution for you.

Last fall I was taking a 24-day trip to five countries in Africa and needed a small camera with high-quality to take with me. I have (2) JVC GY-HD250 cameras but they are larger than I wanted to take on this trip. (The JVC cameras would be great by the way for using in a live church service, multi-camera recording situation, because they have Genlock capability and can be synced to a video switcher). So I began my search for a new camera package for traveling overseas.

Credence Pictures has just finished post-production on a new promotional video for North Carolina Baptist Aging Ministry (NCBAM). We are in the process of making DVD copies for distribution. It was a great project to work on for a great new non-profit organization that will be assisting the aging in North Carolina to find the services that they are in need of.

Credence Pictures designs website for Double Harvest

Today Credence Pictures launched a new website for the non-profit organization, Double Harvest. The website features a Content Management System with news blogs for each of the countries that Double Harvest is working in. It was a pleasure to work with such a worthwhile organization on their web presence. Credence Pictures is hosting the site and will continue to maintain the website for them, adding new content as it becomes available.

Here is Double Harvest’s mission statement:

Double Harvest operates in third world countries to establish and develop agricultural projects by providing capital resources and implementing best practices to increase food production and to build the local economy.

Credence Pictures Productions Award Winners

We learned last weekend that one of our clients (NC Baptist Children’s Homes) had entered two productions that we created for them last year into the national Baptist Communicators Association award competition. Roberta’s Story and NCBAM both won awards with Robert’s Story taking first place in its division and grand prize in the video category of the competition (The M. E. Dodd Memorial Award), and NCBAM taking second place in the same division. We are very pleased that our work was recognized and that our client’s story was well received.

New Video Released for Baptist Hospital

We just finished a 13 minute promotional video for NC Baptist Hospital to promote the annual Mother’s Day Offering in 4,300 churches across North Carolina. Credence Pictures has been blessed to be able to tell the stories of patients assisted by the offering for several years.

New Promotional Video for the Roscoe fishing jig

In March 2009 we took two fishing trips off the North Carolina coast to shoot footage for a promotional video on a new fishing jig from Hampstead, NC based Blue Water Candy Lures. The jig is called the Roscoe and it is a fishing machine. We caught about 25 different species of fish with it. The video will be used in trade shows and the web to promote the new product.
